Appointments

Before booking an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our self-referrals or our Wellbeing Centre to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

How to Book an Appointment

You can make an appointment in the following ways:

For minor ailments your local pharmacy is able to provide a range of treatments and advice when illness is likely to be self-limiting.

Any injury sustained within the last 4 weeks can be assessed at Buxton’s minor injuries unit without appointment, there is also access to on-site x-ray when appropriate.

Our Appointments

For most health related problems, an appointment with one of our GPs or Nurse Practitioners, should get you the help you need.

When seeing a Nurse Practitioner be reassured that they have a high level of skill and training, and will refer immediately to our on-call GP for further advice where needed. They are able to prescribe and refer to secondary care if required.

Our GP appointments are 10 minutes in duration and double appointments can be booked on request should you need to discuss more than one health issue.

Appointments with all other clinicians are 15 minutes.

Online and Telephone Consultations

You can ask a doctor or ask a nurse a question online for non-urgent advice.

Telephone appointments are also available each day with the nurses.

Telephone Advice

Routine Telephone appointments are also available each day with the Nurse Practitioners.

We also operate an emergency telephone triage assessment service with either a GP or Nurse Practitioner should you require urgent medical attention.

Following a telephone triage assessment, a clinician can arrange for you to be seen face to face if necessary.
